Hi! I’m Rachael, a Pinterest loving crafter, fun mom and creative designer that cares about YOUR need for flowers. 

Whatever big life event led you to this site, be it a baby shower, retirement party or wedding, my personal goal is to accentuate your event by making it even more special with the perfect flowers.

I once had a bride reach out to me whose opening statement was, “Flowers are the last thing we have to take care of because they aren’t that important to us.” After choking on my coffee I realized I NEEDED to take on this wedding; I made it a personal mission to enlighten her, to convert her into a flower-loving bride. (Mission accomplished, by the way.)

I had been working in various flower shops for nearly 15 years, building my talent and expanding my knowledge of flowers when the opportunity to take over Black Iris Floral Designs literally fell in my lap.

Black Iris was already a well established, proudly inclusive, successful small business. What set Black Iris apart was, and still is, our focus on weddings and specialty events. Black Iris is a design studio only, no storefront, that only commits to one event per weekend, assuring clients undivided attention on their big day. (“Oh! It’s the morning of your wedding and you just now realized you never ordered flowers for your MIL? I got you.”) How could I, who cares so much about my client’s event, say no to that!?

I took over as Owner and Creative Floral Director of Black Iris Floral Designs in early 2017 and am loving it. I am involved with your event every step of the way. Your free consultation will take place with me. I will order your flowers, go to the market to personally inspect the quality, arrange your flowers, and finally deliver and set up your event. It is a personalized experience from beginning to end.
